Quick Meals

Quick meals can be easy to prepare with a little planning and a shopping trip to the grocery store to be sure you have everything needed for a weeks worth of quick evening meals. Many times leftover chicken or roast can be used as a base for a quick meal simply by adding a bag of mixed vegetables and seasonings. There are sites on the Internet where you can download menus complete with a grocery shopping list. You can buy boxes of prepared mix that you simply fry some hamburger or cook a chicken breast, dice it up and mix with the prepared mix.

Another way to fix quick and easy meals is the one pot method. At one time this was looked at as only for someone who didn't know how to cook, but has come into its own in recent years. A steaming kettle is a valuable addition to your kitchen for easy cooking. You can put water in the bottom and vegetables in the steamer basket topped with meat. This should all be seasoned. When it is almost done, add some grated cheese and you will have a meal fit for the whole family.

Many people cook a roast, chicken or pork loin on a weekend and then have leftovers to put with vegetables, rice or pasta for a quick and satisfying evening meal. Children seem to especially like this type of dish because it is easy to eat with nothing that needs to be cut up to eat. Add you favorite seasonings along with a salad possibly from a bagged salad from the store and your meal is ready to eat.
