Grief Affects Us How?

Grief is caused by so many different things such as a major life change. People deal with death in many different ways. Some accept it and go on while others grieve so much they make themselves sick. People get angry with their loved one that has past on or they blame themselves because it happened.

Signs of grieving are crying a lot, blaming oneself or others, stomach problems, headaches, lack of sleep, and no energy. Sometimes a person’s grief can last for a really long time. Since there are no quick ways or easy ways to fix a person's grief you have to let them work through it at their own pace. It is very important to deal with the grief and not let it consume you.

Some people turn to drugs or alcohol which makes a bad situation worse. It not only affects you but it can and will affect your family. Once you turn to drugs or alcohol you have just created a bigger mess to get out of.

The process of grieving is shock, suffering, sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, physical, behavioral or cognitive symptoms, suffering and then recovering. Shock is first cause you don’t want to believe its happened. Suffering usually last for awhile because you are trying to understand why it happened. Anger can be caused by guilt, frustration, and feeling lost. Guilt can be all the what ifs or should have’s. What if I didn’t get mad or I should have said “I Love You." Anxiety is stressed related or just worrying about what else could happen.
