What is a Recipe?

What is a recipe you might ask? Well, a recipe is a set of instructions that will help you make a meal. All recipes will have some information on it about the preparation of the dish and sometimes a picture of what it is to look like after it is done. Recipes also have the time it will take to prepare it, all of the required ingredients for the dish, the equipment and the environment needed, and step-by-step instructions on how to put all the ingredients into the dish. Some recipes will also include information on how to store the dish and how long it will stay good. Some recipes may include some variations that you can use or alterations or even substitutions for other ingredients that you would like.

You have many recipes to choose from like American, Chinese, Asian, Mexican, and there are even recipes out there for people that have diabetes. You can even start by making special drinks, and then go to appetizers, then the main dish and then the dessert. All of these depend on the person's preference. You can even find dishes that you bake, cook on top of the stove, grill and even do on special occasions. If you have been cooking for a while, you probably know some of the short cuts in the kitchen. For example, you can mix all of the dry ingredients together and put them in a bag so, that way, it will cut the time down when you go to prepare it.
