Quick and Nutritious Meals With the Least Amount of Cooking

In general, cooking is a passion for many people. However everyone has those days where we really don't want to put in the effort. When you have a family, the demand for your culinary skills is typically higher. Nonetheless, there are ways to provide quick and nutritious meals for your loved ones with the least amount of cooking.

For example, most fruits are a rich source of antioxidants; berries have been considered the best source of antioxidants. If you're trying to give your family a full course meal with fruits included, a cup of mixed berries is a healthy and quick thing to add to the menu. A study has proven that just one cup of berries gives you the antioxidants needed to fight diseases. This also makes a very healthy dessert.

So we have our fruit, now what about the main part of the course? Salmon is a very quick and nutritious addition as well. Salmon is low in calories and saturated fats, and it also provides our bodies with the omega 3 essential fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are something we need that our bodies do not produce. Salmon is a good source of this. Tangy baked salmon is a tasty meal thats prepared in under 10-15 minutes. All you need to prepare this is ranch dressing, mayonnaise, dill and lemon.

What about a vegetables, you ask? The good thing about veggies is that you don't always need to cook them to enjoy them. A cup of fresh carrots and broccoli are a nice, healthy addition as well. But, if you want your family to have a warm meal, steaming most vegetables is a quick way to make a healthy and tasty side. Broccoli florets can be steamed in 4-5 minutes, carrots can be steamed in 6-8, cauliflower florets steams in 4-6 minutes, and the ever popular zucchini is also a quick steamer, as it can be ready to eat in 5-7 minutes.

You now have a very quick and healthy three course meal your family should enjoy. And if you have children old enough to learn how to cook, teaching them these quick and healthy meals is another good way to get a break.
