Tips on Eating Healthy

We are in a world where everything has become fast pace, and research shows that this has affected our health.  We, as a population, are developing far more diseases than ever before, many of them related to how we eat.  Much of this can be corrected, if we just take a small amount of time to pay attention to the way we eat.

Do less frying and baking.  Try steaming, boiling, or using the microwave.  This way you are not consuming the fats and oils as before.  When you season, do not automatically add butter or margarine; instead use seasonings for flavor.  This also cuts down on your calorie intake.

Try to make sure you are eating more vegetable oils and not animal fats.  It is actually very healthy to eat oils produced from vegetable based products.  This would mean eating more things like peanut butter, olive oil, or avocados.  Certain fish are also a very good source of omega oils. These types of oils will actually help cut your cholesterol levels, as well as your caloric intake.  They are also known to help lower your risk of developing diabetes.

The use of bouillon cubes is a great way to add a lot more flavor to foods without adding extra oils and fats.  When you combine the bouillon cube with water, it has a tremendous amount of flavor.  Using this broth in cooking vegetables, stir-fries, or even rice, will also help cut your cholesterol level and caloric intake.

These are just a few ways of helping yourself get on the track of eating healthy.
