Its Sunday Brunch Time

It is starting to be that time of year where backyard get-togethers, baseball games and just some all around fun is approaching, and food is always at the center of attraction.  These are some wonderful ideas that can make your display of dishes stand out.

To start your course, the salmon an cream cheese frittata, very simple to make.  Two ounces of smoked salmon, 2 ounces of softened cream chesse, 2 teaspoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons chopped chives, 1 tablespoon fresh dill, 2 tablespoons of milk, 6 eggs and salt to taste.  Mix all ingredients except the salmon together, and put them in a hot skillet to cook the bottom is stable (takes about 2 minutes).  You then add the smoked salmon to the mixture and transfer the skillet to the oven and let it bake at 375 for approximately 5 minutes.  Once the frittata is cooked, let it stand for a few minutes, then serve.

Another wonderful dish is the honey vanilla yogurt over the fresh fruit bowl.  This incorporates 2 cups of vanilla yogurt with 2 tablespoons of pure honey along with the seeds of a fresh vanilla bean added.  Add 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract and mix together until you have a smooth mixture.  In a separate bowl, peel the skin completely off an orange, cut the orange into slices and put those in a bowl.  Then cut a medium banana and mix together (this will keep the banana from turning brown).  The put in your strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and green grapes.  You can substitute whatever fresh fruit you may prefer.  You can either premix the yogurt with the fruit mixture or you can keep them separate and let your guests choose how they want there fruit mixed.  Fresh and tasty.

These are just a few of the ideas to make your brunch a success.  You can always include the eggs Benedict, egg & sausage casserole, home fries etc.  Your beverages can range from mimosa's, champagne, orange juice, bloody marys and watermelon juice.

Enjoy your wonderful menu of food.  Finish it off with a light tablecloth and some beautiful fresh cut flowers.  This will be the Sunday brunch to remember.  Bon Appetite!
