Toy Dogs

The toy dog may be small but it can have a big personality.  Some are very good watchdogs for their size.

There are many breeds of toy dogs such as affenpinscher, bichon frise, brussels griffon, Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Chinese crested, Chihuahua (long and short coat),  English toy spaniel, havanese, Italian greyhound, Japanese chin, Maltese, miniature pinscher, Papillion, Pekinese, Pomeranian, poodle, pug, silky terrier, shih tzu, and Yorkshire terrier.

The best watchdogs are the Yorkshire terrier, toy poodle, Chihuahua, and Shih Tzu. The most trainable are the toy poodle, and the fox terrier.

The dogs may be little in size but they have a lot of character, they are lively, they give lots of love, they're playful, good indoor pets, and they are very loyal. The little toy dogs should not be an outdoors dog.

This is just an example of the sizes and weight of some of the toy breeds. The Chihuahua is 2 to 7 pounds and stands about 5 to 8 inches tall is the smallest dog breed. The Pomeranian is 4 to 7 pounds and stands about 6 to 7 inches tall. The Papillion is about 6 to 10 pounds and stands about 10 to 12 inches tall. The Chinese crested is about 10 to 15 pounds and stands about 11 to 15 inches tall. The Shih Tzu is about 9 to 16 pounds and stands about 10 inches tall. The Pekinese is about 7 to 14 pounds and stands about 8 to 10 inches tall. The Cavalier King Charles spaniel is one of the largest of the toy breeds at 12 to 16 inches tall and 12 to 13 pounds.
