Hard to Cope With Loss

Families can be suddenly stricken by grief, but how do they handle it? Some of us deal with death like it really hasn’t happened, in denial as one would say. Maybe we feel angry because God took our loved ones for reasons we don’t understand. Anger is very common in a grieving process, especially when one doesn’t expect one to pass away so suddenly. Sometimes they also feel guilty in a way because they may have not spoken in a long time and couldn’t say goodbye.  You need to be careful how grief affects you so that you can stay healthy and take care of what might need to be done.

Having some strategies can help in one's grieving process.  These must be well thought out so you know which strategies will work the best for certain situations. Sometimes death can be expected and sometimes it’s not. Death can occur in young and old people. It could be an accident or maybe a lengthy sickness, but whatever the reason, it still hurts.

Grief can affect some so bad that if you see sudden changes in someone you should start to be concerned. Noticing things like caring for one’s self, behavior, and maybe a suicid attempt should tell you they need someone to help them.

At times we blame ourselves for someone's death. We talk ourselves into believing that we could have done something to prevent it from happening, that they should be still here and maybe it should have been you that should have gone and not them. It takes guilt some time to heal, but others can go on like nothing has ever happened. Believe in what you feel because it’s okay to grieve.
