Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer in which a tumor in a male's reproductive system forms in the tissues of the prostate. Prostate cancer usually occurs in older men. This will explain some of the symptoms, treatments, and the other basic information about this form of cancer.

Some of the signs of prostate cancer are weak flow or urination, frequent urination, trouble urinating, pain or burning urination, blood in the urine, pain in the hips, back, or pelvis that doesn't go away; also, there might be burning.  Bone pain is the most common symptom of advanced prostate cancer. Like any other disease, there are causes, and for this type of cancer researchers believe that there are five things that might cause men to get it. Hormones, diet, environment, ethnicity and also heredity are the factors. There are two types of dietary supplements that you can take daily that may help prevent of getting this terrible cancer, which are vitamin e and selenium. Also, prostate cancer usually isn't detected until you go into the doctor's office and receive testing. There are four different of tests that can detect if you have the cancer or not. The tests include a digital rectal exam, prostate-specific antigen test, trans-rectal ultrasound and a biopsy. Biopsies include two different types of biopsies which are trans-rectal biopsy and a transperineal biopsy.

It is important that when a man reaches the age of 50 that he gets a yearly screening for prostate cancer. The earlier the better, and it is also wise that he gets screening done at a earlier age to detect for the cancer, as it will be easier to treat the cancer at the earliest stage possible.
