Chemotherapy Support

There is an uncountable amount of people today who suffer from various cancers, and who turn to Chemotherapy.  Chemotherapy is a treatment using chemicals to kill cells.  Also, it is an antineoplastic drug or a regimen of codes used to treat diseases.  A code of a certain standardized treatment, BEACOPP can be used to treat two different diseases.  The earliest record of chemical substances is in the tenth century from a Persian physician Rhazes Muhammad ibn Zakariya Razi. Razi introduced vitriol (sulfuric acid), mercuric(quicksilver), arsenic salts, clay, pearl, alcohol and several other chemical elements known today.  Surprisingly, in the 20th Century, mustard gas was used in World Wars I and II.  Later, they found out people were exposed to mustard gas and were suffering from a low count of white blood cells.  Then, in 1940 doctors injected patients of cancer with mustard gas through veins.  The mustard gas was an improvement, but was temporary.

No words can take away the pain one may feel when diagnosed with a specific type of cancer.  Several patients turn to chemotherapy, but also risk damaging healthy cells.  So, where do patients of cancer turn to?  Numerous sources in the world today offer help: doctors and nurses, family and friends, support groups, books and websites.  Patients of cancer are not alone in this fight.  Your body may be week, but your family and friends will not give up.
