Preparing Quick Meals

Sometimes meal time creeps up on us before we know it and we have to throw something together quick. That's when keeping basic supplies on hand comes in handy.

With breakfast being the most important meal of the day, it is one of the easiest quick fix meals. Cereal and fruit go great together and only take a few minutes to prepare or scrambled eggs and toast gives you another quick option.

Lunch doesn't have to be difficult either. Cooking up odds and ends on the weekends if you have time and putting them in the freezer is a great idea and it is also a great time saving tip. With that, all you have to do is come in and pop it in the oven while you make a salad or a side dish to go with it. Crockpots are an easy way to throw something together in the mornings and then it is ready at lunch. The leftovers can always go in the refrigerator for heating up later.

Refrigerated meal kits are a great option for the last meal of the day. They are quick, easy one dish meals that can be prepared in about 5 to 10 minutes and put it in the oven. One might even consider fully cooked meals that you just heat and eat.

There are many short-cut tips you can use in the kitchen. Broiling, stir frying or microwaving are fast ways to cook. Once a month cooking (cooking extra food once a month to freeze) is an invaluable tip for busy people.
