Snacks that come in packages, like most other things that are prepared and filled with preservatives, are not very good compared to things that you make at home. Tortilla chips can be made at home easily and inexpensively, and they taste much better than what you'll find in bags.
You have two choices. You can make corn tortillas yourself, or you can buy them in a store in bulk. I would not make my own tortillas just to turn them into chips, unless I was making a very large batch and I had a number of stale leftovers. Tortillas that are fresh out of the oven are simply too delicious to avoid eating immediately, so I'll assume that you're just using packaged tortillas.
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees.
Take out a cookie sheet and grease it with butter, oil or no-stick spray. Take out each tortilla and tear them into eight roughly equal triangles. Space them out evenly on the sheet.
Don't worry if you can't fit very many, it's so easy to make them and they're so good that you will be able to make several batches if you want.
Drizzle a little bit of olive oil on each chip, and if you like, use a pastry brush to spread it around. Dust each individual chip with paprika and salt.
Once the oven is ready, place the sheet inside for about 10 minutes or until they begin to crisp. If you prefer them a little softer, bake them for less time. With dip or without, snackers will certainly notice the difference.
