Favorite Recipes

Are you wanting to make something just a bit different for your party appetizers? Why not try some of these?

SAUSAGE BISCUIT BITES

1 Tube (7-1/2 oz.)refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
4-1/2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 Package (8 oz.) brown & serve sausage links

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each biscuit into a 4 inch circle and brush it with butter. Combine the Parmesan cheese and oregano and sprinkle the mixture over the butter. Place a sausage link in the center of each biscuit and roll it up. Cut each biscuit width-wise into four pieces. Insert a toothpick into each piece. Place the pieces on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until gold brown. YIELD: Approximately 40 appetizers. (Note: They can easily be reheated).


This recipe is great for lunches or to have ready for a crowd on the weekend. They are easily frozen or reheated.

TACO PUFFS

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 envelope taco seasoning
2 tubes (17.3 oz. ea.)large refrigerated biscuits
2 cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender, then drain. Add the taco seasoning and prepare according to the package directions. Cool slightly. Flatten half of the biscuits into 4 inch circles. Place them on 15 X 10 X 1 inch baking pans. Spoon 1/4 cup of the meat mixture onto each biscuit. Top each with 1/4 cup cheese. Flatten the remaining biscuits and place them on top of the others. Pinch the edges to seal tightly. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. YIELD: 8 servings.
