Living After Death

After the loss of your loved one, maybe you are feeling “lost in the shuffle” of this busy world. It doesn’t have to stay that way. The most important thing is that you get your healing process underway. Since God may keep you around for a long time yet, you need to be able to live a happy productive life for yourself and those around you.

You need to get past the loss. That does not mean that anyone is asking you to forget your loved one. It means learning to accept the loss and being able to now go forward with your own life.

Take out a picture of your loved one and talk to them. Tell them when you hurt or are angry. There is nothing wrong with having special memories, or having a good cry. The most important thing is that you learn to remember good things about your loved one. Smile when you recall something silly you did together, or something you spent hours laughing at. Do not dwell on sad parts of your life. It has no useful value and it only eats away your energy in a very negative way.

The loss of a loved one is a transition into a new chapter of your life. This new chapter may be open to new experiences, or just finally allowing you more time to spend with other loved ones. Whatever the new chapter brings, live your life to its fullest. There are many other loved ones that you can cherish to fill the empty spots in your life, as well as in their lives.

Learn to remember your loved one in a special way, not a sad way. There is life after death, yours! Be the best you can be!
